binding keys

Post by Gen Stranger » Mon Oct 19, 2015 9:23 pm

This I got from the internet

This is a recap, and an addition to some older posts about colored letters, binding and now added, quickmessages .
Quickmessages make your ingame character talk in its "native" language .
But first we start off with colored letters .
This is easily done .
In your chat screen ...
To make a letter a certain color you will hit left shift and 6 , then a number for your color .
For instance ...
Shift + 6 then the number 4 is selecting blue for your word ... 4 = blue ...
Shift + 6 will make a symbol that looks like this ... ^
So shift plus 6 then the number 4 then the word hello = a blue hello .
Different numbers = different colors ...
Easy enough right ?

Now on to binds ...
You bind words and sayings to numbers so you dont have to type words while fighting .
You just hit a button, the word is programed in ...
To program a bind, you need an open key .
The number 5 is an open key with the stock control configuration .
So if you want to say hello, you would type this in the console ..
/bind 5 say hello
If you want a bound blue hello ...
/bind 5 say ^4 hello ( shift plus 6 = ^ )
Now on to quick messages ..
This is if you want to make your character talk ... yes talk .
These are the quick messages .
These binds will make your character talk .
# = The key you wanna press to make your player say a certain phrase or response .
bind # "openScriptMenu quickcommands 1" // On Me!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickcommands 2" // Move In!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickcommands 3" // Fall Back!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickcommands 4" // Base of Fire!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickcommands 5" // Attack Left Flank!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickcommands 6" // Attack Right Flank!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickcommands 7" // Hold this Position!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickcommands 8" // Regroup!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickstatements 1" // Contact!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickstatements 2" // Multiple Contacts!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickstatements 3" // I'm in Position
bind # "openScriptMenu quickstatements 4" // Area Secure
bind # "openScriptMenu quickstatements 5" // Watch Your Six!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickstatements 6" // Sniper!
bind # "openScriptMenu quickstatements 7" // Need Reinforcements
bind # "openScriptMenu quickresponses 1" // Roger
bind # "openScriptMenu quickresponses 2" // Negative
bind # "openScriptMenu quickresponses 3" // Moving
bind # "openScriptMenu quickresponses 4" // Sorry
bind # "openScriptMenu quickresponses 5" // Nice Shot
bind # "openScriptMenu quickresponses 6" // Come On

So ... /bind 5 openscriptmenu quickstatements 3 = your player saying ... " IN POSITION ! "

For quickmessages to work though, you must enable quick chat in your game options .
Its under controls .
Hope this helps you all out .
